The Tides vision is to educate the players in our program how to play the game the college way through professional coaching, intense competition, national exposure, and provide a rewarding experience that enables the player to make life long friendships and develop as a person.

New Season Starting

Tides 14U team will be beginning play this month. The roster is made up of a combination of 8th and 9th graders from many of the different cities and towns from Rhode Island.

The team has a good number of returning players from a group that finished in the top 3 in the country last year at the Division 1 AAU Nationals at the Atlanta Braves spring training complex in Orlando, Florida. Mixed in with the returning Tides players from 09 are a handful of new players who had starting roles with competing programs within the Ocean State and decided to switch over.

The team will compete in the Perfect Game BCS Finals held at the Boston Red Sox spring training complex in Fort Myers, Florida in mid July.

16U Team Openings

The Tides are currently putting together their 2010 summer team which will compete in the months of June and July including a trip to East Cobb to compete in the WWBA World Series in Marietta, Georgia. At this time the Tides have 4 remaining spots on the team. The Tides college select team is seeking 1 additional middle infielder, 1 outfielder, and 2 additional pitchers. The WWBA World Series is a must attend event for players ages 16 and 17, as there will be anywhere from 150 to 175 teams and 700 to 900 college coaches and pro scouts taking in the games over the 6 day period of play. Last year the Tides 15U team finished in the top 25 with a 5-1 record. Contact us now for a free tryout.

“The efforts of the coaching and the experiences he gained playing Tides as a 13 and 14 year old player truly prepared him for the next level and have given him some truly important life lessons”

Press Release: Tides restructuring for the 2011 Season...

Tides Press Release: For the 2011 season the Tides will organize their teams by grade as to give our players greater exposure to college coaches. The only exception will be our new 13U prep team. The organization will field 5 teams in 2011, a 13U prep team made up of a mix of 7th and 8th graders that will compete against New England’s top prep teams and highlight their season with a national tournament event during the summer. An 8th grade team, which will be made up of players ages 14 who are currently in 8th grade as of September of 2010, this team will compete in the Perfect Game BCS Finals at the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins complex in July of 2011. And then a 9th grade team, a 10th grade team, and an 11th grade team that will all compete at the East Cobb WWBA World Series in Marietta, Georgia. All of our teams will be coached by individuals with either MLB or College baseball experience, and as usual none of our teams will have parent coaches. Our tryouts will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at McCarthy Stadium in West Warwick, RI, beginning at 9 AM. Check back to this web site in May for our updated 2011 tryout information that will be posted on this site.
